Savage Garden’s debut album is one of my fondest memories of the ’90’s. I remember listening to it that Christmas as we drove the the oh-so far away caravan park we would be holidaying at for a week. The old Toyota Land Cruiser- driving in the sun, wind billowing in through the windows. The trip’s listening consisted of a combination of Savage Garden and The Wiggles; my sister and I still love both to this day. Savage Garden have a fun, sweet pop sound, definitely Australian. It’s not saccharine-sweet like J-pop, and it’s not overflowing with sexual innuendos the way most American pop seems to.
